About Us
Steel Plate, LLC….a successful, highly experienced plate cutting and processing company, is seeking an Industrial Engineer to manage and implement the Company’s engineering process to ensure proper execution of products which leads to customer satisfaction. This role leads continuous improvement activities within all departments to meet and/or exceed performance expectations.
Industrial Engineer Responsibilities:
- Help to develop, implement and maintain quality control
- Responsible for identifying and implementing process improvements in the all areas of plant
- Monitor scrap daily and identify root cause and implement countermeasures for improvement
- Develop and provide ongoing support for assigned projects and takes corrective action to resolve issues
- Prepare and present data utilizing analytical software
- Make presentations to management regarding process and scrap improvements
- Monitor and analyze data to determine if areas of the process/systems are performing efficiently
- Lead cross functional teams to provide technical input in resolving problems
- Act as a technical and engineering resource to the facility and provides guidance and direction on implementing process improvements
- Address process problems after hours, by email to minimize disruption of production due to process issues
- Develop engineered based solutions to complex issues
- Create project timelines and milestones and meet targeted dates
- Solve complex problems by using abstract thinking and creative problem solving
- Assists with engineering drawings and Nesting, AutoCAD and MastercAm
- Help to implement and maintain International Organization for Standardization (ISO)
- Works with the team to drive down Scap percentage
Qualifications
- Previous experience in Industrial engineering, mechanical engineering or manufacturing
- Must possess strong interpersonal communication skills and demonstrate the ability to build rapport with employees and customers
- Demonstrated detail orientation
- Must have a proven track record of meeting deadlines
- Previous experience with root cause analysis and implementing corrective action plans
- Demonstrated experience establishing standard operating procedure
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelors in a related engineering discipline preferred
- Minimum of 2 to 5 years’ related experience in technical engineering or equivalent field preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong computer skills
Physical Demands
- Ability to sit, stand, walk for long periods of time
- Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a phone, computer keyboard, mouse, and other computer components
- Requires the ability to communicate verbally, both in person and on the telephone
Work Environment
- Familiar with manufacturing environment with regular exposure to factors such as moving particles, temperature extremes, moving machinery, equipment and loud noise
- Average office noise levels, and ear protection along with other PPE required when working in plant
- Ambient temperature between 50 and 100 degrees
